Idaho homeschool laws

There aren’t really any Idaho homeschool laws. The Idaho Department of Education does not monitor or regulate homeschooled students. If you’re considering homeschooling in Idaho, here’s how you can do it legally under Idaho homeschool laws:

Choose an Instructor

Under Idaho law, you have the freedom to teach your children yourself. You can also choose another family member, relative, or even an unrelated person to be the instructor.

Teach Commonly Required Subjects

Ensure that your children are instructed in subjects commonly taught in Idaho public schools. We suggest covering language arts, math, science, and social studies for grades 1–10. Grades 11 and 12 offer more flexibility, but it’s still recommended to cover these core subjects.
